This morning, August 8th, 2024, the opening ceremony of the "Binh Duong International Wood Machinery and Materials Fair (Bifa Wood Vietnam 2024)" took place in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province. Mr. Tran Quang Bao, Director of the Forestry Department, attended and delivered a welcoming speech. The event was organized by the Vietnam Wood Industry Fair Joint Stock Company in collaboration with the Binh Duong Wood Processing Association.
The Bifa Wood Vietnam 2024 trade fair will take place from today until August 11, 2024, showcasing and introducing advanced and modern wood processing equipment and machinery, as well as environmentally friendly wood and wood materials.
The fair was held in an area of 12,000 m².2, With nearly 800 booths, the fair attracted more than 100 domestic and international businesses. This year's fair is expected to welcome over 6,000 visitors from countries and territories around the world and Vietnam.
Alongside the Fair, several events related to the wood processing and forestry product export industry will also take place, such as: the quarterly meeting on wood processing and forestry product export for the third quarter of 2024; a workshop on reducing greenhouse gas emissions; a roundtable discussion on solutions to some pressing issues in the wood industry; and a workshop by Alibaba Group.
This event follows the success of two previous trade fairs held in March 2024: the Hawa Expo 2024 (a furniture and wood export fair) in Ho Chi Minh City from March 6-9, 2024, and the Q-FAIR 2024 (an international outdoor style trade fair) from March 9-12, 2024, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.
These are essential activities aimed at promoting and introducing products, and expanding the export market for Vietnamese wood and forestry products amidst numerous difficulties and challenges.
Representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Director of the Forestry Department Tran Quang Bao highly appreciated the efforts of the Binh Duong Wood Processing Association and the Vietnam Wood and Forest Products Association in coordinating and successfully organizing this event. The event is a testament to the proactive, flexible, creative, and adaptable nature of the business community in overcoming difficulties to maintain growth momentum and gradually achieve the export targets approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 327/QD-TTg dated March 10, 2022 – the Director emphasized.
This is also an opportunity for domestic and foreign businesses to meet and exchange views on common issues in the wood processing and forestry product export industry, from machinery and technology, related services, to policies and management, creating an environment that promotes cooperation and business relationships between enterprises, expanding markets, and helping the wood processing and forestry product export industry continue to develop.
In the context of the wood processing and forestry products industry still facing difficulties, challenges, and uncertainties, the Director of the Forestry Department suggested that, in order to achieve the export target of 15.2 billion USD for wood and forestry products in 2024, in the remaining months of 2024, the wood processing and forestry products industry needs fundamental solutions in proactively securing raw materials, production, sourcing, and consuming products, especially in promoting and introducing products, and innovating production line technology. Organizing trade fairs to provide information and promote trade is very meaningful and effective, contributing to the successful achievement of the export target for wood and forestry products in 2024 and beyond.
