The Binh Duong International Wood Machinery and Materials Fair – BIFA WOOD VIETNAM 2023 has just opened in Binh Duong, attracting more than 100 leading domestic and international businesses.
On August 9th, the opening ceremony of the Binh Duong International Wood Machinery and Materials Fair – BIFA WOOD VIETNAM 2023 took place at the WTC Expo International Exhibition Center in Binh Duong.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi – Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of associations and industries, and international and domestic businesses.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Tri said that in 2022, the Vietnamese wood and forestry processing industry, with efforts from the central to local levels and especially from businesses and associations, basically achieved the set targets. With the export value of forestry products exceeding 17 billion USD, a growth of 7.11%, Vietnam is one of the important destinations for international forestry product traders. We have affirmed our pride and position as the second largest exporter of wood and wood products in Asia and the fifth largest in the world.
However, in the first seven months of 2023, the increase in conflicts, complex and prolonged developments, and rising global inflation led to Vietnam's main timber export markets continuing to tighten spending on non-essential products, including wood and forest products; the export value of wood and forest products only reached US$7.8 billion, a decrease of 25.5% compared to the same period.
“Currently, we are working together to implement many solutions, from changing designs, expanding markets, innovating technology, etc., to turn disadvantages into opportunities and risks into advantages. The Binh Duong International Wood Machinery and Materials Fair – BIFA WOOD 2023, which opens today, is a testament to the proactiveness, flexibility, creativity, and adaptability of the Association and businesses,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri emphasized.
Sharing the same view, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, Nguyen Van Danh, said that the International Wood Machinery and Materials Fair has become a prestigious exhibition brand, held annually in Binh Duong. This is an activity that needs to be developed and expanded to promote trade, connectivity, and import/export activities right on the spot.
“"Through this exhibition, I hope that associations and businesses, both domestic and international, will have the opportunity to promote reputable, high-quality products, as well as share new advancements and breakthroughs in Vietnam's manufacturing industry, contributing to strengthening the technological capacity of the manufacturing industry and enhancing competitiveness in the international market," Mr. Nguyen Van Danh emphasized.
According to the organizers, this year's fair attracted nearly 800 booths and more than 100 leading domestic and international businesses. The fair showcased wood products, machinery, equipment, and advanced technologies in the wood processing industry, focusing on three main product groups: industrial machinery and equipment for wood processing from businesses in various countries and territories; accessories and materials for the wood industry and wood processing; imported wood raw materials from domestic businesses and businesses from America and Europe; and wood production, processing, and manufacturing from domestic businesses and businesses from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Through the Fair, businesses in the industry will have the opportunity to meet, exchange information, and cooperate in business; more importantly, it will create a vertical chain of linkages in the industry from suppliers of raw materials and accessories; suppliers of machinery and technology, to manufacturers and traders; it is also an opportunity for businesses to directly evaluate and select on-site advanced machinery and equipment products in the direction of automation from many reputable manufacturers from the US, Europe, Japan, China, Taiwan, etc.
