Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung visits and extends New Year greetings to Tien Dat Wood Industry Joint Stock Company.
In the wood sector, the province has taken the right direction in recent years by shifting from outdoor furniture production to indoor furniture production and has gradually stabilized. Tien Dat Wood Industry Joint Stock Company is one of the pioneering enterprises in this transformation and has made a significant contribution to the overall development of the wood industry. Last year, despite the significant impact of the pandemic, the output of wood businesses remained very good, with export turnover exceeding 600 million USD, accounting for 60% of the province's total export turnover. In the coming time, the province is determined to implement digital transformation and is developing a working program with information technology enterprises to quickly implement digital transformation for three sectors: the state sector, businesses, and the community, aiming for rapid and shortcut progress towards modernization. Regarding the wood industry, with its current potential and conditions, provincial leaders believe that within three years, the export turnover of the wood industry will reach 1 billion USD. This shows that the province's decision to choose the wood industry as its leading and key sector is the right direction. We have a skilled workforce and all the necessary conditions to revive and develop the wood industry, especially the wood for indoor use.
Regarding the proposals and recommendations from businesses, the Provincial Party Secretary stated that he would request the Provincial People's Committee to review and re-plan the land fund for planting large timber forests, aiming to plant at least 10,000 hectares of forest by 2025 to provide raw materials for the timber industry. Concerning the businesses' desire to build a furniture exhibition area, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung said that the province is also considering this and will soon find a suitable location to build a provincial exhibition center befitting its status.
